Insights from a Global Korean Father

Welcome to Korea Pulse.

I am a professional in the Korean construction industry in my 40s and, more importantly, a devoted father to a middle-school-aged daughter. My career has led me to over 40 countries, but my most rewarding journey has been watching my daughter grow up in the heart of modern Korea.

After a 15-year hiatus from the digital world, I’ve returned to share the pulse of South Korea through a unique lens: the seasoned perspective of a global traveler combined with the warm, protective, and often curious heart of a Korean “Appa” (Dad).

Our Perspective: More Than Just Information

At Korea Pulse, the stories I share are personal. They are filtered through the eyes of a man who has seen the world but still finds magic in the daily shifts of his homeland.

  • K-Drama & K-Pop: I share what I hear and see—often through the playlists and screen time I share with my daughter. From a father’s perspective, I explore the emotions and cultural values that resonate across generations.
  • K-Food: With a palate trained in over 40 countries, I review the foods trending on TV and social media. I’ll tell you if a dish is just “hype” or if it’s something I’d proudly serve at my own family table.
  • K-Trend & Wellness: As a dad who prioritizes a 10,000-step daily routine to stay healthy for his family, I analyze Korean trends. I focus on what these movements mean for the quality of life and the future of the society my daughter will inherit.

A Personal Note to Our Readers

Everything you read here is a personal reflection. I do not represent the entirety of Korea; I represent one father’s honest take on his country. Think of me as your “Insider Uncle”—someone who has navigated the world and is now here to guide you through the real Korea with a bit of “Ajussi” wisdom and a lot of fatherly care.

Thank you for being part of this journey as I rediscover the digital world, one step at a time.

Warm regards, The Founder of Korea Pulse (and a Proud Dad)
